Zombie walk 09

Oh wow, i don't even know where to BEGIN for this weekend, so much happened. I havent had a super long entry in a while, so herewego:

First i went to the mall where two little scene girls followed me around giggling. I bought myself the second part of my favorite manga "gyo", as well as "the walking dead" which turned out to be an amazing comic. I also bought some extra zombie makeup for Krista before heading to her school.

Its not the first time i wandered a school that wasn't my own trying to find someone, although this time i wasn't so outlandish when i walked in. I just found Krista, waved at her from outside and waited until she had to go. Then after she introduced me to her friends we headed to her house where she called Kayla Hotte. Right away i started playing guitar and grad theft auto 3, racking up 100 some kills before i got arrested, then Kayla arrived. She seemed so excited to do this and we had tons of fun right away. She taught me to read music and we did our zombie makeup all together. Kayla did something silly first of all that i couldn't not mention though, in the lighting of Kristas room she thought that the blue makeup was green and laughter ensued. Fake blood ended up everywhere. All over my suit, Kristas nose and in Kayla Hottes mouth. Once we all felt confident enough of our silly costumes we texted ash ketchum to meet us there and headed out. The bus ride was a little awkward, but we got alot of smiles and once we got to the park there weren't many zombies at all.

There were maybe 20 once we got there and a few newscasters. It was kind of a bad feeling, like nobody was going to show up or something, but within 20 minutes all shapes and sizes poured from the streets to the gazebo to watch the person holding the event to rip out the guts of a mannequin and announce that it was beginning. At first there were only a good hundred as we began to walk- and even then it was exciting. Slowly as we marched down the streets there started to be more and more. Ash ketchum and her four friends caught up with us, as well as my friend Sarah and we all got more excited as more things started appearing.

Some of the costumes were awesome. My most favorite was probably a construction worker with a protruding bone from his arm, but there were also alot of other creative ones- like the first guy who got into act, who was half hardened in real bloody chocolate. It was intimidating seeing him wander around the gazebo emotionless. There was also a guy who blew into his trumpet now and then, people with neuses, hammers, knives, nails, ect. The best part is that EVERYONE got into the mood and started pretending to be a zombie. Slapping on windows at confused people in buildings or cars as we walked by- and even chasing bike riders as they tried to go by.

I had no favorite part of the night, there was so much that happened within the three miles. The first part of the walk spanned from whyte avenue all the way down the high level bridge, where people reached out to passing cars under the edmonton city lights. We also looked down to see a passing LRT full of zombies, which was amazing. Around this time, a guy in a chicken suit on a skateboard strolled by quickly and in reaction EVERYONE started chasing him going "POOOULLTRY".

Once we got to part two, we all sat down and enjoyed some time together, talking about little things as Kayla got drunk off the rum me and Krista brought. She was a real sweetie. Talking incoherently and saying things like "whats with this? we're sitting beside each other and facing each other" and stuff. Then all of the zombies headed across the ponds to the parliament. I guided Kayla over all the huge nooks and crannies, then we all took a humongous picture together, waiting for all the other zombies to appear. During this time, a zombie-michael jackson appeared on a ledge up high, seeing this me and another girl zombie hopped up and immediatly started doing thriller. I got lots of pictures taken of me and it was another highlight of the night.

Finally, the main leader zombie in a cowboy hat stood up on a high ledge and said "alright everybody! there are alot of us here now (nearly four hundred) and we should head downtown!". Both sides of the street were literally full of zombies screeching and groaning between the skyscrapers. We even went through a building, which echoed everyone through all the halls. The flabbergasted looks on the security guards were amazing. Lurching forward at every green light was also great fun.

Finally, we came to churchull square and decided to call it a night. So we bussed away before the prom. We ran into a homeless drunk guy at a bus stop with two other zombies. At this point only Me, Krista, Kayla and Sarah were together. Me, Kayla and the drunk dude all sang "heartbreaker" together and "don't look back" by boston until we finally had to go. I still chuckle thinking of what he'll wonder tomorrow when he wakes up. Singing with zombies? wat? lol.

Anyways, We all went to steel wheels and i invited kayla hotte to come to ash ketchums birthday tomorrow but she insisted she wanted to go to a dance. Ah well. We all enjoyed a slice of pizza and a dude who stuck a stick all the way up his nose, as well as the company of a few punk rockers. It was cool.

Then finally we all had to go our seperate ways. Kaylas mom took us all to where we needed to go and we went our seperate ways.

The next day, me and Krista woke up and ate frenchfries, got Kyla over then headed to ash ketchums birthday, once again at steel wheels. It was so fun! Kari and Dallas showed up as well as Ash ketchums friends and we all had some pizza while laughing at funny noises of waiters. I also managed to sneak in some graffiti of "ZOMBIES" and ;SQUID overtop of my old graffiti.

After, kari decided to take us on top of tops liquor again. We didn't have anything to drink, but it was fun staying up there for a little. I have to remember to take Pat there next time he comes if its not too cold. It will be the coolest place to drink for us ever.

After that, we all had a coffee in chapters, i wanted to buy "pride, prejudice and zombies", but didn't have enough, so i bought a book full of cool magazine clips instead. We also all laughed at a really ugly cat in a book until i started to cry from it, ugh. After this we went our seperate ways and we got back and fell asleep.

Once i woke up, i came home- and here i am. ; )

Next stop: Halloween.
